a journey to toddlerhood | Brentwood First Year Baby Plan Custom Photographer

18 months ago, I met this sweet, quiet, sleepy bundle of goodness.  Baby Charlie.  Little brother to 4 amazing (and gorgeous) brothers and sisters.  His newborn session preceded this blog, so here’s a peek at a few of our favorites from his first days.

Little Charlie grew and grew.  Funny how they do that.  Before we knew it, he was sitting up so I headed back over for his ‘sitting’ session.  I was unprepared for just how cute he had gotten.  This is, by far, my favorite baby age.  So cute and yet so immobile!!!  I had tons of favorites from this one!

and one with clothes on from his original blog post:

We met briefly in December for a family image for their Christmas card on a very cold, snowy, overcast day.  We grabbed these images here but decided to wait for his official 1 year session until after the new year.

Then Charlie got a little sick.  Well, really, pretty sick.  For more than a few weeks, it was “one thing after another” for this poor little guy.  RSV, Strep, the list goes on.  So we waited.  And finally he was better, the weather cooperated, and we were able to do his 1 year (plus a few months) session.  My how this little one has become a boy!  He met me with a very large hockey stick and a mean slapshot!  I’ve never seen such a little guy with such great skills!!  We had an absolute blast getting together…  I really could just sop him up with a biscuit!!

he might be all boy, but he’s still a toddler too…every little hockey player needs to be prepared (with his blankie!):

So now we’ve captured the journey to toddlerhood.  Time to come up with a few finishing touches to remember our journey.  I use a lot of cream and warm black & whites with this family, as that is what compliments their home’s decor.  That’s the difference in using a custom portrait photographer…they know your home, they can create art that coordinates perfectly with your space!  (Note that baby planners receive a custom 10×20 at the end of their baby plan year.)

and now we are creating an album that covers the entire 18 months…it is awesome!!  I can’t wait to see it printed.

front cover and spine:

I honestly can’t believe that one of my original precious newborns is now 18 months old!  I have loved seeing Charlie grow with each milestone and am happy to know that he’ll be back in September for the G family’s fall session!  Thanks, Laura, for a wonderful 18 months.  I’m so glad we got to ‘do this’ together!  I have completely fallen in love with your adorable family and hope to photograph all of your gorgeous kids for a long time to come!
