NASHVILLE SENIOR Photographer
LET"S CAPTURE YOUR SENIOR BEFORE THEY FLY!
Stella dreamed of a Nashville Senior session, full of stops at all her favorite places downtown, from the Ryman, to the Graduate Hotel, to her High School!
Her mom was our personal chauffer, as we spent a gorgeous September Tennessee weeknight all around Nashville. What an incredible session!
MLK HIGH, DOWNTOWN nashville
Jonathan, a cross country runner from Overton High School, dressed for success for the urban portion of his session! His second and third outfits were casual, and we headed to the park to add some of Tennessee's gorgeous landscape to his gallery

Like many seniors, Teagan split her session to include time in the creek, in a park, and on the ballfield, where she has spent so much time as a softball player.
I loved the challenge of capturing unique softball images and incorporating the gorgeous September sunlight. The creek was the standout in this session, along with the stunning blue dress! Hair & Make Up services provided by my HMUA: LeeAnne Blair

your authentic personality captured
Mom, Let's celebrate your senior. Maybe they were shy as a toddler, or climbed on every surface in your kitchen. They might have fought you about doing homework in middle school, or packed a bag to run away at 5. Graduation seemed so far away back then, and now here it is. Your baby is all grown up!
This senior experience isn't like ours was in a studio with weird backdrops and glamour shot editing. Today's senior session celebrates your senior as the amazing, unique individual that they are. Do they love a sport or hobby? Let's incorporate that into the session. College bound? Let's include school colors or a college t-shirt. If they love to dress up, let's do it! If toes in a creek are more their style, I know just the place. I promise to give them confidence and give you amazing photos to cherish long after they've spread their wings toward their next adventure.
Your senior year flies by so quickly, and will be over in a blink. My goal is to make the entire process stress free and unique for you. As a mom of a senior AND a photographer, I bring a unique perspective. I know how to give you a great senior session and I know what Mom wants from your session, too. I will help you choose your location, offer advice on what to wear, have hair & make up professional recommendations, will guide you through the session with natural posing, and can sit with you after the session to help you select your favorite images and finalize your order. Your photos should reflect the real you and bring out your true personality.
I've got all the details in my Senior Welcome Guide.
1. Say Hello
Senior sessions can take place any time of the year. September is the most popular month, followed by late April.
Figure out what time of year works with your schedule and the location you'd like, and then hop over to my booking calendar or send me a text or email to find a date that works for you.
2. Schedule it
Location, what to wear, and whether to include hair and makeup services are all that is left! I'll send you detailed information to help you make all of those important decisions, and then you can sit back and let me handle the rest!
3. Planning it
We will meet together, you'll bring your 3 outfits, and the fun will begin. I promise to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and will instruct you on posing, smiling, which outfits go in what order...everything is on me! You simply bring your amazing personality and let the fun begin. We will hang out for 60-90 minutes and then the hard part is over!
4. Your Session
Within 2 weeks, you'll receive a link to an online, private gallery of my favorite images from your session. You can preview those images and mark your favorites.
Then we will meet together at my studio to review your images with proofs you can hold, which makes it so much easier than clicking through a gallery. You are always welcome to place your order online, but I find most families love working through their order together.
I'll then professionally retouch your purchased images and prepare your prints, albums, wall art, and digital files (or whatever combination of that you choose) and prepare it for delivery! You'll then have the memory of Senior Year in your hand for years to come!
5. Your Photographs
prints, digitals, and more: A la Carte
session fee (No images included) $350
The senior session is designed to be relaxed, with time for outfit changes and a variety of poses at your session. A few weeks later, we will meet with printed proofs to sort through together. You can choose from an array of digital and print options to meet your personal preference for cherishing these memories for years to come.
We hired Karen at a friend's recommendation when our 3rd child was 6 months old. She's captured our birthday parties, family sessions each year, and even was in the delivery room for the birth of our 4th child! To say we trust her and consider her our friend is an understatement. We have so many beautiful memories in albums and on our walls of every stage of life with our kids. We couldn't be happier! Renee & Chuck

Karen is a dream to work with. She can effortlessly capture a genuine smile from a fussy toddler to a testy teenager and everyone in between. She has been photographing our family for nearly 15 years and we absolutely cherish the memories she has captured. From booking, to reminders, to the session itself, and a quick delivery of a gallery, she truly loves what she does and it is so evident in her work.

Family Session
The fua family
When I was in college I interned at a church in Brentwood, TN. I would often see beautiful family photos posted by several of the church members and they were all by Karen Halbert. I remember thinking how cool it would be to have her photograph my family when that time came. A few years later, at my baby shower, my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law gifted me a gift card for a baby planner session with the one and only, Karen Halbert. It may sound cheesy, but it brought tears to my eyes to have that dream come to fruition. Karen has photographed my family now for the last seven years. After two baby's first year plans and many family photo sessions, I can honestly say that her work is magic. Photographing children of all ages with the various moods they bring to photography sessions is not for the faint of heart and Karen steps through them with grace and ease. Whether we have an hour with her, half an hour or five minutes during a Santa session, she produces unforgettable moments and facial expressions from our daughters and our family. She is not just a photographer, but a down to earth, hilarious, understanding person who also has an incredible talent for capturing moments your family will cherish for years to come. There is no other family photographer for The Girten family. Regina & Jeff

Karen, There were so many beautiful options in Joshua's gallery! Thank you, thank you, thank you! The ones of him with the guitar. LAWD. I'm so glad we added the family mini on to his senior session. The ones of Jacob smiling. Oh, my heart. These photos make me giddy. So grateful!
Thank you so much for capturing us before they all grow up and fly away!
